Thymosin Alpha-1 Description

Thymosin Alpha-1 (Tα1) is a 28-amino acid synthetic polypeptide that mimics a naturally occurring substance isolated from the thymus gland in mammals. The biologically active peptide is known for its immunomodulatory properties, particularly its ability to enhance immune function through multiple mechanisms.

Tα1 works primarily by modulating T-cell activity, facilitating the differentiation and proliferation of T cells, with a particular emphasis on CD4 T cells. It also enhances the function of dendritic cells and natural killer cells while selectively regulating inflammatory cytokine production.
